Custody after 5 years with family
I live in Washington Ilost custody of my children in 2001 for being a victim of domestic violence anyway would it be possible to regain custody after such along time I did not lose rights my aunt and uncle just have physical custody and I also only think IT would be in my sons best interest not to try for custody of him since he is six and thinks my aunt and uncle are his parents but my thirteen year old girl wants to come home would a judge look badly on only going for custody of my daughter the only reason I don't try to get my son is I don't want to destroy his stability he has emotionally with my aunt and uncle I'm trying to do what's in his best interest any thoughts

How would it be explained about his sister leaving and how do you think that he would react to that?

I admire you for putting the needs of your children first. It's very admirable.

Does your aunt and uncle know what your thoughts are? If so, are they supportive?

I would think that your first step should be talking to a good family lawyer, however, perhaps speaking with someone from Children's Services would be a better starting point.

    Hugs, Didi
