    Child support/parental rights
    OK so here is the deal. My girl friend is adopting her sisters kids after they were taken away from her in Ga. (she lost her parental rights) we are in Mi. my question is, can the court order her sister to pay child support after the court took them away form her? Thank you in adavnce for your answers.

    If the bio mother's rights are being terminated, and your girlfriend is legally adopting them... no the bio mother will not have to pay any child support... she will have no legal rights or obligations to the children.

    An adoption means taking full responsibility for the child. If the kids were removed, she probably isn't likely to afford child support. But if you want the possibility, then she can't adopt, she could become their legal guardian though.
