If I give up all parental rights to my son, does this free me of my financial obligation in Louisiana? If not, is there a way to legally do this?

    Yes and no.

Yes, it would free you of your obligations, but if the child isn't being adopted, you cannot give up your rights.

Is there a way to legally get out of child support?

Sure! Your child just has to die for that to happen.

Pay for your kid so that the taxpayers don't have to. Child support should do two things: make sure that you take responsibility for the child that you helped bring into the world, and teach you that if you don't want kids to keep your pants on.
