    Child Custody Modification
Our daughter was just served with papers and her ex is suing for primary custody. He has a high paying job while our daughter has struggled for two years. She cannot afford an attorney yet must respond in 8 more days or he will win by default. Can she answer his suit and file at the court house on her own without an attorney? She lives in Idaho.

As far as I know you can fight your case by yourself in any state. I would respond to the court quickly. It doesn't matter her financial situation just as long as she has a place to live and can feed them and dress them. My husband and I are better off and better able to care for my step-daughter (who he fights for without a lawyer) and she is on welfare committing welfare fraud mind you but she still has primary custody.
