Can I have my daughter's biological fathers parental rights terminated?
I have a five year old daughter. Her father and I were never married. When I was in a relationship with her father he was abusive. He has had little to nothing to do with her in her whole life. She doesn't even remember him. He is constintly in and out of jail and the reason I know this is because his sister calls me every once in a while. He has not tried to see her in 2 years. I have received some child support but mostly nothing. What I want to know is if this would qualify as child abandonment. Would I be able to petition to have his parental rights terminated. Also we live in Washington state, I know the laws are different in different states.

Why do you want to terminate his rights... he has never executed them.
