I am 18 years old and I want to know if I can receive child support
I am 18 years old and my Dad has not paid one cent of child support. My mom gave him the chance to be a father and he claims he is unable to produce a child and he denied me several times. I have never met my father, nor do I plan to. But if need be I will have him get a court-ordered paternity test. So my mom never asked for child support because then that would give him eligibility for custody. Now that I am 18 isn't it possible to get paid back for all the years he didn't pay anything? What steps do I need to take?

First, any question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary. So areas do have laws that might allow you to sue for support.

However most don't. Child support is for the custodial parent to use to help raise the child. If mom didn't go for support its unlikely you can now.

And if this man is telling the truth? What restitution are you willing to pay for disrupting his life?
