    Abandonment on a parent
    Can grandparents of my step-son file abandonment if we leave him with them for 1 week while we go to another state?

    No. That doesn't mean they can't try.

    Why would you leave your stepson with them if you think they are then going to try to get custody on grounds of abandoment?
