First, please don't piggyback your question onto someone else's thread. It makes it harder for us to find and answer your question. I've asked that your question be moved to its own thread.

Second, you cannot force him to sign over his rights. He is the legal father of the child and has just as much rights and obligations as you have.

On a personal note, why do you not want this man raising his own child? You didn't seem to object to him when it came to having sex.

    Parental rights
I'm 34 years old and 7 months pregnant by someone who is 10 1/2 years younger he said he doesn't won't to have anything to do with my baby but won't sign over his parental rights I won't to know that if I should pass while my child is still a minor that he won't get my custody of my child to live off my social security and life insurance?

The father. If he refuses, is incapable, is not qualified, then your parents/his parents.

If someone adopts your child WITH YOU WITH THE FATHER'S CONSENT that person would become the father and would raise the child.

Starting new threads with different information(now you're saying he doesn't want to be in the child's life - not mentioned previously) doesn't change the answer. You cannot force him to give up his rights.

If you don't want him getting "your" life insurance, then have it paid into an account that only the child will be able to access once they reach 18 years old. Or if you trust your other child, leave it to them entirely and specify that they are to give half to the baby once s/he is a legal adult.

Maybe you didn't read my post but I said he doesn't won't anything to do with the child... So in the event of my death I won't to make sure he doesn't have a change of heart when there is money involved...

You can't. He's the father. As I said - until there's another legal father, he's "it." Leave any private money wherever you wish to leave it; SS will go to the guardian of the child. That's usually the parent.

My mistake, I apologize. However, I answered your question at 1:35pm CST. You then opened a new thread about the same topic at 2:30pm CST. The answer doesn't change.

As I said, if you don't want him getting the life insurance money, then leave it somewhere where he is unable to touch it. But he's the legal father. If you pass away, the child goes to him full-time unless you have someone else adopt the child.

And as I already stated, I don't know why you're objecting to him being in the child's life. You found him "good enough" to have sex with once, at the very least. Doesn't make sense to me.
