    My 17 year old
    I have a 17 year old son and he lives with my mother and wants to live with me how do I go about it since she has guardian over him?

    Hello AMY:

    If your mother objects, she can stop you. However, if it's OK with everybody, he can just move. He's going to be an adult shortly and can go anywhere he wants then. It seems kind of ridiculous to stop him from choosing now. But, I know people can be stubborn.

    If she objects, and you have the money to fight her, hire a lawyer and go to court. The judge will ask your son where he wants to live, and if there's no compelling reason to stop him, his wishes will be granted.
