    Refinishing composite deck
    Good Morning!
I washed our deck yesterday which is made of a composite material called millennium board. It is a cream color, about six years old and is now stained with mildew and discoloring. What can be used to refinish it and make it look better?

Most composite decking is plastic resins and wood pulp. Mold and mildew will grow on most surfaces and mildewcides will remove the problem but may alter the color of the surface so test in an area not easily seen. You can buy deck cleaners with mildewcide built in or try TSP. Allow to soak and do some scrubbing or power wash. As for refinish, most composites do not take stain or sealer so check back with Millennium.

Call your composite company, there is a deck cleaner, and I wish I could remember what it was called, I want to say it was thompsons deck cleaner, this will bring the color back, as far as the mildew a pressure washer will fix that if you have one. Other wise , use the deck cleaner
