Is a well spoken woman or man more attractive?
I'm just a little curious as to whether a well spoken individual is a more attractive prospective partner.

To me it is. I've never dated a woman who was clueless (so to speak).

If she was brought up in a more rough family would that influence your decision to start a relationship with her? Some women are intelligent, well spoken and well manered but their family don't follow that pattern. My family are a classic example of this. Im not a posh or privileged person and I've had to work very hard to get anywhere in life.

Actually I kind of did just that. My wife's family is from a very small town. Her dad drives a pick-up and hangs with the boys hunting and drinking but he's a great guy. Her mom is a little overbearing, small-town-know-everyone's-business kind of way, but harmless. My wife is a lawyer but that's not the reason I married her of course, she's kind, good to others, and a smart cookie.

It depends on your orientation, I guess... for me as a heterosexual male, a well-articulated woman is one I'd prefer to be around, but it doesn't necessarily enhance or negate their attractiveness in my view.

My preferences lean that way, but to each his own.

I would say that depends on how you converse with people. If you are a very articulated person, then it might get in the way or embarrass you if he is not. I know from experience! However, I consider it to just go towards the "worse" part of our vows :) I figure, if that's the worst it gets, we're doing pretty good. My husband grew up in the country and I'm a city girl from a snooty-poot family.
So, yes they can still be attractive... but at times you'll have to bite your tongue and maybe he'll pick up on a better vocabulary as time passes.

I can say that my husband married me for me.

Both sides of my family are a handful to say the least. My husband and I are very similar, yet grew up in completely different environments. Our families helped make us who we are and as crazy as they can be, I still learned to become the person I am because of them.

In my honest opinion, confidence is the most attractive quality; no matter what you have been given in life. ;)
