    What is the name of a symbol with 3 letters after aster?
    Need to do some homework and I don't know what the symbol is its like this * but less points

    It's sometimes called a star, but its formal name is asterisk.

    You can wow your teacher by telling her/him that the Latin word for star = aster. That's how the symbol got its name.
