Working the celing fan without remote control
Hi, We moved into this place, and found the ceiling fan not working, though was told it's remote controlled. We have no remote control for the fan nor does the fan work when the switching... only the lights would come on (using the light switch)(the fan switch is separate). We've taken the fan down and it found the receiver attached on the top of the fan. Now, we are hoping if we could just take off the receiver and work with the pullchain mode (manually), and have no clue how to do so. Any advice or suggestions very much appreciated.
By the way, the fan is "Mayfair" brand (have been surfing the net and hasn't found such a brand in Canada).

Does the fan have pullchains? If so, remove the receiver and wire the fan without it.

You can also try a Universal remote.
