    Wiring to replace Hampton Bay remote on Hunter fan
    My old Hampton Bay remote seems to be interfering with the light on the Hunter fan (fan worked, but not the light until I took the remote off then everything works). Two weeks ago everything was fine, so in theory crossing the brands should be okay, right?

    Receiver has a black and white to connect to the AC supply and blue, black, and white to connect to the fan.

    My wiring is:

    From the ceiling to remote receiver:
    Black supply to black receiver; white supply to white receiver; and blue to ? (I have tried to black receiver and just capping it off)

    From the receiver to the fan:
    Black to black; blue to black w/ white stripe; and white to white

    And green from ceiling to fan green

    And my question is: what to do w/ the blue wire from the ceiling? The setup w/o the receiver is obvious: black to black, white to white, blue to blue, and green to green; that works fine. But when I add the remote..

    Capping the blue is fine.

    You have two fans and remotes, or you're using an HB remote with a Hunter fan? If so, why?
