Wire size for 100 amp 3 phase circuit
I am installing a commercial convection oven rated as follows: 220V 3 Phase. The oven pulls 23 kilowatts. I calculate this to be about 64 maximum amps. So, I'll use a dual pole GE 100 amp breaker in my box. The wire run will be about 15 feet through conduit. I'm getting conflicting reports on the wire size I need. Am I correct to use #2 stranded copper for the hots and neutral, and # 6 or 8 for the ground? Also, I'm guessing that my only connection options are split connectors and a lot of tape? Are there junction boxes available that have "terminal strips" of sorts to connect the 'line and load" sides into? Thanks in advance. rmwac

Are you an electrician? This is not a DIY job you are looking at.

Is the oven 208V or 240v? There is no such thing as "220" anymore.
What is the service, 120/208v or 120/240v?
Are you aware that 120/240v 3 phase has a high leg?

How are you going to make a 2-pole breaker work fro 3-phase??

    I get 55.5 amps at 240v 3-phase.
