Why won't my heat shut off at 65 if set at that temperature?
I have a boiler and when I turn off the thermostat (Honeywell Digital) it just keeps going and won't shut down unless I hit emergency switch. Then I have no heat/hot water. HELP.
    Single Mom.

Sorry to miss your question, I would hope by now you have contacted a boiler technician to come in and troubleshoot the system.

Could be as simple as a defective thermostat, or a short in the control wiring.

    Hi,
Now I have no heat at all. A friend that knows a bit says the boiler is shot. Not good news when you're a single mom without a job.
Thank you for your help. Dawn

Our heat is turning off before it reaches the set temperature. Our weekend house (and its central air system) are only four years old. Up until now, the heat and the A/C have worked perfectly. In the winter, we leave the thermostat set at 50 degrees when we leave. It seems to stay at that...

The heater will not shut down whither exceeding set temperature or being turned off. I replaced the thermostat and plugged the heater in again. It started immediately even in the heat off position. Could it be the ignition control or a thermo coupler? I'm not talking about the fan blower but the...

Why did temperature not rise above 57 when set to 69 on heat pump unit? [ 2 Answers ]

Two HVAC technicians have told me there is nothing wrong with my heat which operates off a gas heat pump. However, my auxiliary heat stays on constantly. Last night (was about 18 degrees in GA) the auxiliary heat was on at night and temp was slowly dropping. When I woke up this morning, it was 57...
