    What size circuit breaker?
Finally installing electric garage heater that I have been asking questions about recently. Instructions say that heater draws 31.9 amps and that 6 gauge wire is required. That's all fine, however, my question is what size 2 pole breaker should I use, 50 or 60 amp? If it is any help, it is a 7.5 KW unit. Hope to finally rap up this project because it is getting cold fast here in New Jersey. Once again, thank you all in advance for your help.

50 amp will be fine. Based on the load, I don't see why a 40 amp would not work also. I wonder why they insist on #6 wire.

Thanks again for the help. I don't know why they require 6 ga. Wire. My only guess is because of heat. The electric heaters are very hot. Thanks again.
