    what gauge wire to use??
    I need to install wiring for a whirlpool induction cooktop model gci3061x but don't know what gauge wire to use. The booklet that came with it doesn't say.

    What is the wattage of the unit? It will probably say in kW.

    I got it right from their web site.
    Electrical Requirements
    40 Amps. 60 Hz. 240 V.
    You can use 8/2NM cable on a two-pole 40A breaker.
