    Upgrading old electric
    In my kitchen I have a double wall outlet (two outlets side by side in one box). They are the old type with no ground. Everything I've read says I can replace with GFCI's, they just won't be grounded. Easy enough, but do I ground one new GFCI to the other since they're in the same box? I'll be installing a couple of new outlets (which will be GFCI's) and a range hood on a new breaker as well as a dishwasher on its own breaker, but I'm going to run new wires to them so the ground for those won't be an issue. I would just replace the wiring for the old outlets but they're in a very tough place to get to and my wife doesn't want to lose the ability to use them. The house is over 100 years old and these outlets were installed sometime in the 40's or 50's. Thank you.

    Hi sdan75thrgr

    U can attach a short piece of wire to the GFCI ground terminal and the other end to the metal box. If u have more than one pair of wires connected to existing outlet, u will have to determine which is the line coming from panel box and attach to the line lugs on GFCI.
    The other pair to the second set of lugs. All outlets after the GFCI will be protected by GFCI.
