    Trying to wire new breaker
    We are trying to wire a 60 amp breaker into a breaker box that has no other breakers in but does have power. The breaker is for a 12/3 220 wire for an a/c unit. We hooked up all wires but a/c is not getting power. We need to make sure that all wires are connected properly. Thanks

    Best to use a voltage tester to see where the power stops.Can be he breaker is not plugged in firmly and fully, or the breaker can be defective.

    Connections can be loose, or the AC may have a problem in it.

    We are not getting power to the outlet. Could we be using too much of amp? We put in a 60 amp A sticker on unit says the following "IF CONNECTED TO A CIRCUIT BY A FUSE USE TIME DELAY FUSE. 15A." What does this mean? The socket itself is a 20 amp. The unit has a 3 prong plug.

    Where is the 60 amp what? Anything is possible , that is reason for the need to have a tester to check where the voltage is stopped.

    We put in a 60 amp breaker. The breaker box is the 2nd one for the house. There is the main wires that run from the other breaker box. The black wire we tested with the white wire and the ground wires, they all had power. When we tested the black wire from the main to the black wire on the breaker it barely got any power at all. The tester light was very dim.
