Trying to replace a 3 speed ceiling fan switch in old Casablanca fan
I have an older Casablanca ceiling fan. I can't find a model number on it. I am trying to replace the fan switch and didn't note the wiring order when I took the broken switch out. I've searched the internet for an inordinately long amount of time and can not find info based on the wires I have in this fan. I have two black wires, one red and one blue. One black wire and the blue one come out of the capacitor, the red wire comes out from the reverse switch and the remaining black wire comes out from the plastic bit that you plug into the wires that come out of the motor. My switch is L 1 2 3. I've tried several combinations to no avail and am frustrated beyond reason. Is there anyone that can advise me. I like the fan and am trying like crazy to not have to replace the entire thing just for one switch.

Replacement switch is a Westinghouse Angelo Bros. it has wire openings labeled L, 1, 2. & 3. I have wires colored: Black, Brown, Green, & Grey. Which wire goes in what opening in replacement switch? Thank You

How do I replace the three speed switch in Hampton Bay ceiling fan?
I pulled the chain out of the switch on my Sears ceiling fan. Any suggestions on where to find a switch replacement or adapt to something else? Sears no longer stocks the part, I have tried Ace Hardware, Home Depot and local ceiling fan store.
