I'm having issue with my trip switch more than 3 weeks now.. sometimes my trip switch keep tripping few times a day.. when that happens I turned off all my breakers and tried to reset the trip switch.. its keep tripping until I turn off the Main Breaker.. sometimes few minutes later everything is back to normal.. I thought this is a problem with my trip switch and I replaced it with a new one.. and I already replaced my Main Breaker too.. this thing still keep happening randomly! Can someone help me?

Your problem could be related to how the wiring is wired to the trip switch (GFCI). **In the home's wiring system, the GFCI constantly monitors electricity flowing in a circuit, to sense any loss of current. If the current flowing through the circuit differs by a small amount from that returning, the GFCI quickly switches off power to that circuit. The GFCI interrupts power faster than a blink of an eye to prevent a lethal dose of electricity.** So if it trips randomly when nothing is plugged in, then the wiring has something to do with it. -- If there is something plug into it then the thing plug into it is the problem not the GFCI outlet.

Here is a better understanding then the one I gave before. --If a switch is on, then turn it off and back on - the mechanism can trip inside the box but not move the actual switch. If this does not restore the supply then push the 'push to test' button. If the switch now trips it means you have a problem with your wiring or perhaps a faulty appliance as the this button can only trip the switch if you have a good electricity supply. The switch will now be in the off position. This is a problem within your home, so do not call your supplier. You will need to call a qualified electrician to come out and fix the problem.

If the switch is on and the 'push to test' button doesn't trip the switch, this means that there is no incoming electricity supply so you will need to call your suppliers emergency line.

Switch OFF

If when you go to the box, a trip switch is off, then you should flick it back on. If it stays on but you still have no electricity, then make sure you have not switched off the main fuse box switch. If the switch trips straight away then it means you have a problem with your wiring - you should call out a qualified electrician to look into this.

If the fuse box and trip switch are separate then turn off the fuse box and turn the trip switch back on - it should stay on. If it flicks to off again then there is a fault with the fuse box or trip switch itself.

Thanks jovi for your reply... I did that but trip switch's test button work perfectly!

I also did that but trip switch won't trip!

I did that step too.. it won't trip...

I first turned off all my circuit breakers in my box.(so there is no electricity to appliances.. ).. then I on those circuit breakers 1 by 1.. but trip switch didn't trip.. so there is no fault in my appliances..
But when that problem comes,, I can't on the trip switch until I turn off the Main circuit breaker ( until cut of the current to trip switch).. is it a problem with my incoming electricity??
