    Socket for ceiling fan
A few years ago I bought a ceiling fan from Walmart. I need a replacement socket for it. It's smoking and hissing ;o I see a sticker on top with this info: Model #M52-5B/4L Item No. e185585 (a Google search references Hong Kong China Electric Appliance Mfr Co. Ltd. - says something like this is an ID that they can operate under instead of listing their name)The tag gives a number that says it can't be dialed from where I'm at: 800-922-3267
UPC 0-30721-72030-7 001136821 020 P.O. #914951 I found this forum when I searched for that Model # and some posts seem to think that model coordinates to a Harbor Breeze from Lowe's but Lowe's, Litex and Mfg (or whatever that was) all say it's NOT their product. (Keep in mind, I purchased it from Walmart.) I looked in Lowe's at their standard replacement sockets but didn't find any like the one I need. I need one with threads on the outside because there is a nut that goes on the outside of the socket which enables the light globe to stay in place. (The globe isn't held in place by the normal three little screws on the outside of the globes bracket.) I put a call in to my local Stanion Supply and they say they need to have me take off the light kit and let them see it before they can advise. I hate to take it all apart on the chance they may not be able to order what I need. Thought I'd check here first since I found some mention of the same model number here. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Is it a normal screw in light socket that needs replacing? You can get one at ANY hardware store. It doesn't have to match the numbers it just has to fit.
