    Can't shut off breaker
    I can't turn the power off in the living room to replace the outlets. Could it be a bad breaker that won't turn off?

    No. You just haven't found the right breaker. If all else fails turn off the main breaker.

    I have turned all of the breakers except for the main and the power will not turn off in the living room. It should not be hooked up to the main should it?

    Are you absolutely certain there is'nt a subpanel?

    If you turned them off and back on one at a time, I know what the problem most likely is.


    Try turning off the main.

    If the living room is close enough to the panel, plug a radio into one of the receptles and turn it on asloud as you can. Go to the panel and one by one turn off each breaker until the radio shuts off.
