Lights in ceiling fan do not work
There are four lights in my ceiling fan. 2 no longer work, even with new bulbs. The fan works fine as well as the other two lights. The two that do not work seem to have a short in it. When I screw in a bulb the light flickers, but won't go on. Can I replace the bottom portion of the fan that holds the 4 lights, or do I need to replace the entire fan? There are two pull switches, one for fan, one for lights. No remote. I turn it on by a wall swithc. Hope that info helps.

You can replace just the light kit but you can also repair that light. My dad used to say" If someone put this together, I can take it apart." You likely have a loose wire connection at the light socket or back at the remote receiver in the canopy. Try for the fixng first and if you are not successful then buy a new light kit.

Sounds to me like the connection tabs are not making a good connection to the lamps yes you can easily replace the light kit fairly cheaply not really worth messing with just replace the light kit

Correcting a loose wire or connection would cost $000 but a new light kit could run $30- 70. We generally try to help fix things before we recommend replacement but you could be right, only time will tell. I'd fix it myself, they are not complcated.

FIRST, WITH THE POWER OFF, bend the tabs inside the light socket further out from the back of the socket. Use a small flathead screwdriver. This usually fixes it.
