I have a power source to the switch. I also have 14/3 wire to the light. Do I need to have 14/3 to the next light as well. How do I wire the first and second light.

You only need a switched leg, a neutral and ground, cap off unused wire.

Is this new construction, or do you already have one light that the dimmer operates? If this already works with one light, how are the wires connected on the switch right now?

The one answer I can give you is, you really need only a "14/2 with ground" wire to the second light. It will be connected exactly like the first light. (Light White to New Light White, Light Black to New Light Black). This can be done in either the dimmer switch box or at the first light, whichever is easier to get to. (I guess I'm assuming these are recessed ceiling lights).

One last thought is since you have 14-3 to first light, you could use 14-2 to second light.
Then at first light hook to red, all whites together, all grounds together, then have the black from the 14-3 hook to the black of the 14-2. this way you have an option to switch seperatly or together, depending on if you leave red and black as separate switchlegs.
Or tie both together so they can be switched together.
