    Harbor Breeze remote problems
I purchased a Harbor Breeze fan about a year ago. It worked fine. All of a sudden the remote does not work anymore. I have changed the battery and still does not work. Any ideas. The fan does not have any cords, so I can't do it the old fashion way. All the remotes I have seen has a transmitter. How do I set that up?

    Thanks.

There is a transmitter and a receiver in the fan. The receiver is in the fan housing and has likely failed. It is replacible but you need to insure the dip switches match so you'll be on the same frequency. You can buy both as a kit.

Does the LED still light on the remote? If so, I concur with Ballenger's answer.

However, another fans remote does operate the fan properly, so that should mean the receiver in the fan is working, and again, the blue light comes on in the remote unit. I have changed the dip switches to match the one remote that does not work.
Is there a special process to change the dip switches?
