    Are reverse switches universal?
    I don't know what kind of fan mine is, but the reverse switch broke so I cannot run my fan. I see numerous used switches available for purchase but I cannot figure out if it has to be brand specific?

    I would say they are take the switch with to a home improvement store and match it up I've do this with chain pull switch which was universal.

    You need to make sure the "form factor" is the same.

    Translated, you have to make sure that you use a similar switch so that it will fit and operate the same.
