Replaced the pull chain switch but it is only going to High/Low speeds.. won't shut off. Guessing I have the wiring wrong but I have different color wires then most other post. Any help would be appreciated. My fan has Black, Red, White and Yellow wires to be placed into the switch.

I recently pulled the cord on my ceiling fan to start the fan and the cord broke. There is no cord visible, it broke in the fan housing. Can the cord be fixed/re-attached? Would it be more practical to just buy a new fan?

My ceiling fan,, light pull cord pulled when I turned it off but it is now stuck in the pulled down position. so now I can't turn the light on.. this cord is very seldom used as it is controlled with a dimmer switch
