To Replace Pull Cord Light With A Sensor Light?
I had installed a Sensor Light in the ceiling of our mini hallway at one end.. Now the query is to install a Sensor Light at the other end of said hallway.. Problem is the light I'd like to replace is a Wall Mounted Pull Cord type with just 2 wires (Black / White) It's Tapped into the Wiring that leads to the otherside of the wall & stairway to the basement. The stairway lighting is controlled by 2 switches one at the top and one at the bottom... My query is if I can get around it is to install another Sensor Light in place of the Pull Cord but once either stairway light is turned on it kills power to the Pull Cord.. Help Appreciated , Cheers Thanks..

Sounds like Pull cord light may be on one of the three ways travelers? Will have to determine where it is connected, and connect to a constant live, or the switched leg, so it goes on with the Stairs lights. Is there attic above, is wiring in conduit?

@ Stratmando.. Figured I'd have to do some digging... lol.. Just the whole setup is a Mystry, the Mini Hallway to the Basement Stairway has a Ceiling Light with it's own independent switch on another wall.. As for the wiring going through the attic , don't think so as the Electrical Panel is right below the basement stairway on the opposite wall..

Insteon makes a 2477D I believe is the number. You could do a couple of reconnections, and have the lights switched from 3 locations?

Rethinking, By using the Insteons at 2 locations, you could use an unused traveler to provide a constant hot to feed motion light.
