Were does the receiver fit in the fixture

My ceiling fan remote control works except for the down light button. Can you help me replace or fix my remote control

I lost the remote control to the fan and have not been able to find a place to buy a new one. I was told I could buy a universal remote if I could tell them how many pegs the receiver had. Problem is I can't get into the fan where the receiver is to find out. Can anyone help?

My AC fan has slowed to almost no air movement at all The filter is clean and the compresser is working great,(cold air just barely comes out of the vents. Is this a blower an issue? What is the cost of a replecaement? Thanks
