Powering a set of 3 way switches
    Hi All,

I will be doing a kitchen remodel soon and I'm preparing my lighting diagram.

I will have (2) 3-way switches side by side, each controlling a set of lights with respective 3-way switches at the end of each run.

I will need to have power come into the 3-way switches but I'm not sure how to wire up the switches with the incoming power. My guess is that I would use pigtails off the main power wire to each of the switches but since I'm not an electrician I don't want to assume anything.

If I'm correct, once I have power to the first two switches, wiring the lights should be easy and there are lots of diagrams out there that show 3-way switch to the lights to the end of run 3-way switch.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

Wow! That was exactly what I needed. Second diagram fits perfectly. Glad I asked since it's not quite what I pictured it being.

    Thank you!
