    No ground to outlets
I am looking at a home to purchase for my father. Upon inspection of the home, I was told by the inspector that there were no ground to all but 3 electrical plugs, the main panel is located outside of the house next to the meter and was rusted but working, the auxiliary panel (located inside) was installed into the corner of a wall which leaves it not accessible, wiring on outside of house is not rated to be used outside.
My Question: Approx. how much would It cost to completely rewire a 3 bedroom, 1 bath, kitchen and comb. Living room/dining room. About 20 plugs 12 single switches with new panel inside. There would be 10 ft from the outside panel to where the new one would be. I understand this would only be approx.

Very difficult to even ballpark. Impossible to answer as we do not know what local codes are applicable, what materials costs are, types and gauge of wire, labor costs, whether you need new service panels, etc. Get 3 bids from qualified electricians.

Non grounded receptacles can be replaced with GFCI receptacles. The receptacles will still be ungrounded, but you will be able to use three prong plugs.

Also, each of the receptacles has to be labeled as Ungrounded.
