    Lightning strike damage
    If my well pump power cable is struck by lightning what kinds of damage would I look for. A friend said his was "fried" by a lightning strike but there is no visible damage to the cable as it exits the ground leading to the main power panel.

    A pump that doesn't run. The damage, if any, could be in the panel box.

    Damage from a lightning strike is usually hard to miss...
    I've seen severe damage with lots of black marks, blown light bulbs and electronic
    Items that no longer work. This was from invisible dog fence. Lightning found it's way back to the house and the service.
