    Lighting Outlet Not Working
I was painting my bathroom and removed the lighting fixture to paint under it, but left the wiring intact. When I replaced the lighting fixture, the lights would not work. I tested the outlet with an voltage tester and there is no current running through the outlet. I reset the GFI outlet in the bathroom and tested it and there was a current. I reset the circuit breakers in the basement by turning them off and then on, and retested the lighting outlet and it still doesn't work. HELP!

" I reset the GFI outlet in the bathroom " was that GFCI actually tripped? Lighting is not normally on a GFCI but this may help us figure how the circuit is wired. Did you go back and check the wires to the fixture, may have come undone while you were remounting
