Lighting fixture constant-on/no switch - can it be converted to R/C ?
Here's the deal - in my sisters new condo, the builder has a plate covering a spot which would be perfect for a light fixture in a nook. I installed a light fixture and found out (the hard way) that it was not on the lighting circuit, but on a dedicated circuit for a smoke detector. The light works, but is permanently on but with no way of turning it off apart from installing a pullchain, removing the bulb or flipping the smoke detector circuit off, none of which are acceptable.

Is there a way to make this light remotely controlled ?

I thought of using one of the Universal ceiling fan/light R/C units , but now have wiring questions (1 wire out from transmittter for the light , does it go to L or N, how do I handle it ?

Is there a better way ?
