    Light switches height from the floor
    What is the standard position of a rectangular light switch (1-gang, 2-gang, 3-gang) in a residential house, horizontal or vertical?

    There is no standard. It's whatever you like.
    If the house is existing I just match the others.

    Generically speaking, switches are placed 48 inches (to center) from the finished floor. The boxes are placed vertically,
