    That and more about the size , output and location of the panels. In most residential apps this is not going to happen

    Well, the lack of detail and information in the original post makes it completely unanswerable.
    I will agree with ballengerb that this is most likely not going to happen.

    It isn't just the cost of the solar panels, you need an inverter to make AC and then wiring and a transfer switch and it would not be cost effective.
