    How many watts can I use
    I'm building a new garage an I'm putting in a 63amp breaker . I would like to no how much watts this can take before it trips , it'll be in the uk so I think its 240v in the uk , can anyone let me no please

    I'm not sure that you can get a 63 amp breaker. You will probably have to go with a 70 amp breaker.

    Wattage will not trigger the breaker to trip. Amperage will. So if your circuit current draws more than 70 amp, the breaker will trip.

    Mathematically, wattage is derived by multiplying the Voltage and the Amperage.

    For example: Wattage = E X I; W = 240 X 70; 16840 = watts.

    You can buy a 63 amp breaker in the UK? Must be a metric size.
