    Bill,

    You have appended to an item that is four years old. I'm going to request that this question be moved to a new thread.

    As to your question, it really depends on what you are trying to do. Since there are no restrictions on the number of receptacles allowed on a residential branch circuit therefore there is no restriction on the number of GFCI receptacles. However, cost may very well be a mitigating factor.

    For example, if you want to protect the entire circuit a GFCI breaker you can.

    If you want one GFCI receptacle, to protect down stream receptacles you can do that.

    Also, if you want the GFCI receptacles to only protect the only the receptacle to protect the load, you can do that also. But here is where the high cost will be.
