    How does a home generator work
    One 120v plug has 120v other 120v plug has 180v?

    Make sure your measuring from hot to neutral.

    Depending on the application and the generator, ground may not be bonded to the neutral, thus voltages measured with respect to ground may be stray.

    WHat's the issue? Is this a 240 generator with a 4 wire twist lock connection as well?
