How do I know if a Time Delay Fuse has burned out?
I have a Fuse Box with two 30 Amp 250 Volts Time Delay Fuses. The Breaker Box, that feeds the Fuse Box, has two connected 50 Amp breakers (100 Amp total) for the incoming power. These feed one 20 Amp breaker for my flood light, one 20 Amp breaker for my two GFCI outlets, two connected 20 Amp breakers (40 Amp total) for my irrigation pumps.

My pumps wouldn't turn on when I turned the power on. Trouble shooting: There was 240V entering the Fuse Box, but no voltage reading exiting. I figured the Time Delay Fuses, contained in the Fuse Box, had gone bad so I replaced them with new ones. Put the new fuses and fliped Fuse Box power ON. The two 20 Amp breakers triped. Not sure if the new fuses are burned out. How do I know? Bigger question why don't I have any power for my pumps? Why did the breakers trip? Is there to many amps going through the circuit?

This is the same set-up I had last year and the pumps worked fine. The only different thing was that I added the second GFCI outlet during the winter (pumps were off during this time). What should be my next step?

Remove 2nd GFCI outlet from circuit and see if fuse still trips. If not then u wired the GFCI wrong.

Let us know how this works.

    Good luck
