Help with ceiling fan and 2 different light switches
OK my problem I'm replacing my old lights in dinning room which has 2 switches to it. 1 is a dimmer switch knob and the other located in hall way is just a reg switch. I'm trying to put in a ceiling fan w/lights. I want just the lights on the dimmer and the fan to be powered always and controlled by the chain "3 click" only.

At box in the ceiling I have 2 sets of wire 1 set coming in White/Black/Ground/Red 2 set the same white/black/red/ground.

Set 1 is hooked to set 2 like so

    S1 red to S2 red
    S1 ground to S2 ground
    S1 Black to S2 white
S1 white Open to connect to light
S2 black Open to connect to light

    Any ideas thanks

Sorry but you can't wire the ceiling fan the way you would like unless you run an additional cable between ceiling and the switch that is on what you are calling S1. Currently you have no un-switched hot conductor in the ceiling.

If running another cable is not convenient, it would probably be to your advantage to exchange the fan/light for one that is remote controlled.
