    smithjm4,
I just so happened to be replacing a ceiling fan last night and came across a little black component in the one that I am removing that fits your description to a tee. I was curious about this little black component and before I discarded it, I wondered if I could Google its product ID and find out what it was and what it did.

I still don't know what it does as there were no relevant Google hits describing this component. As a result of finding your post here I did pull the component from the fan and saved it so that I could offer it to you.

Are you still in need of this Watson E127244 component? I would be delighted for it not to rot in a landfill.

I would love to have it, I am a fix it rather than throw it away type of a guy. I am positive the ceiling fan will work again if I had that component. In today's world they want you to buy a new fan. If you could drop it in a padded envelope and se
