Hampton bay "click in" wiring question
I bought several of the Hampton bay "click in" ceiling fans for my new home. I have been very pleased with them and they have been very easy to install, however I do have one question. Each room that I am installing them in has 2 live wires in the ceiling, and a dual switch plate (one to control the fan, the other for the light). However I can only find one spot to feed the live wire on the fan motor assembly. Is there a way around this? It's not a huge ordeal, but I would like the convenience that 2 switches provides! Thanks!

If you only have 1 hot on the light/fan, it is likely remote, even then you can usually pull a second wire through fan and to light kit for separate control.

Here's my question. I have two wall switches and two sets of wires coming into the ceiling box, each one with a black, white, red and ground set of wires. Hampton bay fan has white/black wires and green ground. Electrical box has white/black/and red and copper ground. What do I do with the red wire? Even though switch is turned off at wall, when I connected black to black the fan comes on and stays on! It does come with a remote.

Hampton Bay Wiring Help [ 7 Answers ]

Ok, so as I stated in a previous thread my Hampton Bay ceiling fan has the problem where the lights dim, go off, come on by themselves, or the fan turns on for no reason. The company said the model wasn't a remote model so the previous home owner installed the remote on it. I decided to...

I've wired the ceiling myself but light bulbs keep making constant noise when turned on. Not knowing much about electrical stuff, I suspected that I've mis-wired the ground or something. Can someone verify my wiring and suggest what could be wrong? Fan-----Ceiling ---------------...
