    Hampton bay ceiling fans troubleshooting?
I cannot get the glass globe off my Sidewinder ceiling fan so I can change the bulb. I changed it once a couple of years ago, and don't remember how I got it off... but after I reinstalled the glass bulb, it fell off a couple of days later and smashed. I had to replace it. Can anyone out there tell me how to get this globe off? It is a Sidewinder but in brushed chrome instead of the bronze that is shown here.

Lights still work but fan quit. This Hampton ceiling fan has no pullchain - only a remote. The red light on the remote lights up but the fan doesn't work. Can dust buildup inhibit the signal to the starter?

jannk, if memory serves me correctly you place your palm under this dish shaped globe, push up slightly and give it a twist counterclockwise. The globe should trun about an inch and the drop down in your hand. When you reinstall watch the globe as you twist clockwise to insure it slides that inch back in place, it did not the last time.
