    Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan Noise
    Hello,

I purchased a Hampton Bay ceiling fan some months ago but have just recently had it installed. The handyman commented that the fan made noise. It is a grinding noise. Since I purchased the fan myself, it was not the responsibility of the handyman to correct the problem, but, is there any remedy to this? The fan does not need to be balanced. The handyman thought that the bearings needed lubrication or something. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Linda

If it's brand new, it should not be making a noise. Try running it on high for a few hours, if it doesn't go away you should exchange the fan.
