    Hampton Bay Carriage house ceilliing fan instructions
    I am trying to install this ceilling fan, but I can not get the fan to bolt onto the mounting bracket. The bowl that fits around the bracket is getting in the way. Does anybody have a suggestion? I do not have intsructions to do this install.

    The bowl is not able to be removed and put back on after installing. I did try to find a what to do this. You can't remove the blades completely either.

    You must be talking about something else.

    1. The mounting bracket mounts to the ceiling.
    2. The motor mounts to the bracket.
    3. The motor housing mounts to the bracket.
    4. The blades mount to the motor.
    5. The light(s) mount to the switch housing.

    In that order.

    When I attached the mounting bracket to the ceiling you run the wires through the middle of it then you attach the wires from the fan to the run from the ceiling. When I go to attach the motor to the bracket that is mounted to the ceiling I have to put three nuts on lag bolts that are coming dow from the ceiling fan bracket to the fan motor. The problem is there is a bowl that gets attached with 4 little screws that is there not for support or stability, but for aesthetic. This bowl is pretty large and does not move down far enough for me to get my hand in to put the nuts on the lag bolts. I can not take the bowl off. I have tried to look at there being a disconnect on the post to give me more room to work on it. I think that I am just going to throw this out my window.

    You are talking about the bowl that covers the entire motor assembly, yes? It has holes in it for ventilation. That housing does remove, you have to take the light and blades off the fan, and then the motor can be mounted separately

    When installing Carriage house II, model 138 108, the installation Owner's Manual instructions did not show a critical drawing available in the home depot drawing for the same piece of equipment online. This omission resulted in three fans being installed incorrectly, which resulted in fan motor binding in one of the three. To prevent this problem the fan reversal switch must be installed over/in the detent of the switch cup mounting plate. Otherwise the switch body will distort the switch/lamp mounting cup sufficiently to bind the fan blades and prevent them from rotating. The only way I found this out was by referring to a PDF drawing available on The Home Depot Website for this product.
