Every time I start it blue smoke billows out, and then clears up. It seems to sound knocky and rattly then that seems to quiet down too. I suspect that the rings are letting oil in at cold startup then the piston and rings expand when it warms up. This is a WAG, but seems to be what its doing.

I have a yardmachine with a B & S 17.5 engine. Replaced with short block. Now will not start. Seems to not want to fire. Has fire and fuel. Is it possible for the timing to be off?

I have a 2000 Honda Civic SI that has been out of commission for awhile. Long story short, when it was running it had a slow undetected oil leak and eventually it threw a rod and made a hole in the block. Can I please get some advice on the best route to go?
