GFI tripping with no wires on the load side and nothing plugged in.
I have a problem with a bathroom GFI receptical that has just started tripping sometimes when the bathroom fan is switched on. The thing that gets me is that the fan is not ran off the load side of the GFI. All that comes into the device box is a black/white/ground which are tied in on the line side. There is nothing plugged into the device either. Once it is tripped you can still hear a popping sound from the GFI once and a while when the fan is switched on. Only thing I can think of is faulty GFI but if anyone has other solutions please feel free to share. :) Thx.

Need to be checking for the proper voltage at the proper wires, sounds like an open neutral is causing the GFI with no load to trip.
